Behind the Scenes EM:HE - Joplin

ABC’s Emmy-award winning reality TV show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition announced that the show’s October Joplin project would build seven homes in seven days for families who suffered losses in the May 22, 2011 tornado that destroyed much of the city. Thousands of people in Joplin and from across the country donated time and materials in the massive effort to rebuild. Behind the scenes, working 24 hours a day, we were proud to be volunteers. This is our story....

Work and Fun... do go together!

Okay, so we have all been working so hard that we hardly have time to think. I have been working on Thank You cards for volunteers and the families. I never knew that it would be so hard to find something to say. What can you say really? I can't imagine what it would be like to live through that tornado, lose everything, and then have Extreme Makeover: Home Edition come and give me my life back. I'm just gratful that I got the opportunity to help these families.
